Garbage, Bulky Trash, Recycling

The City of Dallas Sanitation Services department provides pickup of garbage, bulky trash and recycling.  As of March 2012, the pickup day for both regular and recycling in Lakewood Heights is Monday.  Detailed information, including what will and will not be collected and holiday pickup schedules, is found at the above website.

Brush/Bulky Trash Pickup - Third Week (third Monday) of each month.

Putting out brush/bulky trash at the wrong time can be costly! Learn more at the City’s Bulky Trash department or call 311 if you’re unsure when to place your brush or bulky trash at curbside.  Place your items out on the front curb for collection no earlier than the Thursday before or later than 7:00 A.M. the Monday of our pick-up week.

Note:  the third Mondays in 2013 are:  January 21, February 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, August 19, September 16, October 21, November 18, December 16.

Chemicals, Paint and Electronics

Nasty stuff like paint cans or chemicals are not allowed in the standard trash.  They need to be transported to:

Hours of Operation: Open Tuesday-Thursday and 2 Saturdays a month

  • Tuesday: 9:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m
  • The Center is Closed every Sunday, Monday, and Friday.
