Most snow ever in Lakewood Heights
Early in the morning on Thursday, February 11, 2010, snow started falling on Lakewood Heights and didn’t stop for 24 hours. The storm produced record snowfall, the most snow in over a century (actually, the most snow ever, since folks started keeping track of the weather records). 12.5 inches at D/FW Airport beat the record for the most snowfall ever in a 24-hour period.
Along with the snow came broken branches, falling trees and power outages. Many Lakewood Heights residents were without power and several businesses, including the Lakewood Whole Foods were closed due to lack of electricity.
